Jason Rohan

What books did you read when you were a child?
I read everything I could find, but I had a soft spot for the Willard Price Adventure series. I learned so much from those books, such as how to survive on a desert island.

If you could be a storybook character who would you be?
Can I cheat and say Iron Man, the Marvel superhero? A billionaire inventor with a flying suit of armour - what more would you need?

What is the best thing about reading?
When I was young, I wanted to be a detective, an astronaut or a secret agent. Being a reader allows you be all of those things, only without the danger.

What is your all-time favourite book?
One book I have read and re-read is King Solomon's Mines. It's a historical adventure set in Africa and the hero, Allan Quatermain, is like the original Indiana Jones.

Jason Rohan has worked for Marvel Comics and loves action movies. His book The Sword of Kuromori is out now and is set entirely in modern Japan.
